Why is solar the best renewable technology?

Solar energy is the cleanest, most reliable and most abundant source of renewable energy available. The sun has been around for 4.54 billion years and will be around for another 5 billion years. Solar technology is diversifying and improving every day, efficiencies have increased by over 50% and production costs have decreased by more than 50% in just the past few years.

Is solar cost effective?

While solar is still more expensive than conventional fossil fuel sources, federal, state and local tax benefits and incentives help many solar projects become more cost competitive. In many cases, as much as 80% of total project cost is offset by these tax benefits and incentives. As fossil fuels are finite and rising in price, the sun’s energy is infinite and always constant in price – which is ZERO! Within the next few years, solar power generated from the sun will cost the same or less than fossil fuels.

How do we know the system is going to produce as we say it would?

The reliability of a solar system depends on the quality of design, components and workmanship used in building the system. We are not tied to any product, technology or manufacturer. We design systems with panels that are most suitable to each project’s needs and offer the best value to our clients. We only use products from manufacturers with long term field performance data available, with 25 year production warranties on their panels. Our contractor is a firm that has been in business for 50 years, employs 1,100 journeyman electricians, is bondable up to $250 million, and provides long-term maintenance on every system installed by GRID.
